So I remember listening to this song when I was little and thinking what a scary place he was describing. Then the horror when I was older and he was talking about Suburbia, where I live. Now I listen to it, and feel a little awed at how well written the song is.

STILL don't have a job, getting desperate. Won't rant about the asshole at Teh Source, but as soon as he pulls his head out of his ass, he'll probably hire me. Got my new CD in the mail today, so awesome.
It's a DJ Green Lantern Mix Tape of some Fort Minor stuff that didn't make it onto the album "The Rising Tied", which I will probably need to purchase soon, as this disc is excellent. It's scary how much into Rap I've gotten, but this shit is good. And good luck trying to download it, it's pretty rare.

Just a quick note, getting ready for tommorow and such.

I am ~~looking~~ desperate for a yellow dress that'll fit me. This deserves some explanation. For NSSSA provincials this year (EDGE), my skillbuilding partner and I are dressing up as beauty and the Beast, except we want to switch roles. Problem is, I need to look like Belle, and a yellow ballroom gown for a six foot one man is not easy to aquire.

So any help, or suggestions would be super sweet.

It's fucking scrary how fate likes to fuck with your mind.

Yesterday I was SUUUPER busy, Market early morning, then running around all afternoon untill I headed into Halifax so I could DJ. I drove for probably more then 4 hours yesterday. God, I still love to drive.

All I remember is being on the highway and listening to "I Love my Sex", then (on random), "Dreaming 2004" came on, and I stopped and realised that I was listening to these songs, driving to Waverly on a Saturday afternoon after the market.

jesus christ fate's a bitch.

So what's new? Not a damn thing, and that's why I haven't updated, as there isn't much to update on.
yup, that's about it.
I'll go play some video games now.

I REALLY want to go. But I would need a partner or two, 'cause then it would kick major ass.

If I can get a partner or two, then I might have an honest shot at being able to get the car to drive there and back. I'm 18, so hotel isn't a problem.

Wrote this a while ago, just getting around to posting it now.

I thought I’d try something different. This post is being written on a laptop, in the car on my way back to Nova Scotia, AGAIN.

Yes, Yes, I know I haven’t posted in a looong time, lots of interesting stuff has happened, but as we all know, I am extremely lazy, soooo, quick recap:

I spent six weeks in Quebec (Drummondville, to be exact). I left the beginning of July, got back to Nova Scotia August 14. I switched with a kid named Adam, lived in his room, with his family: Diane (mom), François (dad), and the two sisters: Jade and Fanny.

I worked at “Le Centre Communitaire de Drummondville Sud” (The South Drummondville Community Center), a day camp for little kids. My group was about 35 kids, grade 3’s, led by me, “Zazoo” (Jessie) and “Velma” (Caroline).

I had to bike to work and back everyday, which was over six kilometers each direction, and Drummond is flat, no glorious hills like we have back in Lower Sackville. Besides that little hitch, I loved my job. Jessie, Caro and I all got along really well, and the kids were awesome (especially Grant, who was fluent in English, French and Spanish, Djan: my buddy, and Gino; my homeboy). It is a big camp, with kids from just barely out of diapers aged all the way to “pre-ados” (pre-adolescent). All the staff were girls, except for me, “Extreme”, “Elmo” and some other guy, I forget his name, but Elmo and the other guy were only at the camp for a week, Elmo had to quit, he had other “obligations”, and the other guy was fired, because he didn’t take the job seriously enough. So basicly, it was me and extreme.

Get your mind out of the gutter, I worked with these people, there was no “shacking-up”.

My exchange group consisted of ten people, five from Nova Scotia and five from British Colombia. NS kids were: me, Amber, Julia, Andrea, Melanie. BC kids were: Justin, Derek, Loris, Elizabeth and Niki. We had organized activities every weekend and once during the week, usually Wednesdays. I won’t get into everything we did, since I’m lazy, and we did a lot of cool stuff.

I will say that the second week we were there was during “Le Mondial des Cultures” (World Cultural fair) and we all got week long passes, so we went just about every night, and broke curfew just about every night that week. During the festival, I: bought a tam-tam drum from Africa, saw the most amazing fire-works (biggest and best I have ever seen), got FREE second row seats with Amber to see “Mes Aieux” my second favourite French band (some long haired metal-heads jumped up on stage during the show (NOT a rock band) it was hilarious).

Home life wasn’t that bad, I had a TV and a Game Cube (which I only used a couple times) and a well equipped computer in my room. The food was fine for the first week or two, but I still feel like I should be taking a multi-vitamin, the food was NOT healthy: we had really good homemade poutine, but usually twice a week, hotdogs, frozen chicken burgers, “steak”, instant potatoes, rice. No salad, no pasta, the two things I eat most often at home. I survived; it was a real eye opener to how good healthy food really is.

To get to and from Quebec, we took the train, which is a twenty hour non-stop trip from Halifax to Drummond. On the trip there, the food was gross (lunch and supper) and during the night (I arrived at 6 in the morning, Drummonville time) it was freezing it must have been ten degrees and all I had was two t-shirts and two pairs of shorts, and the tiny, tiny train blanket they have. I brought my guitar and Dave’s little mini pocket amp, and there was about four other people around me who had guitars, so we had an awesome Jam session, and I made some awesome friends, especially John-o, Nicole, and Evan.

One of the weekend trips our group did was to go to Montreal, and that’s where I lost control. I went on a little shopping spree, but my style: It was all planned out ahead of time, the research already done, and we (me and Justin) shopped like real men, bing, bang, boom, we were done. I bought myself a Zippo, and my MP3 player (which I LOVE). Then I really lost control, and on an impulse, bought me and Justin Cigars to smoke on the last day, to celebrate our trip. Then I bought a drink. And some gum. And the new Blender magazine. Then I realized I had spent well over $300, so me and Justin went and got burritos. The End :P

The last week of work (Monday of that week, actually) “my” bike got stolen while I was working. Apparently, I had been working in the rough part of town, and no one told me. It was a big, ugly mess, lots of anger and threats and nastiness, but my super-hero/coordinator, Catherine Dubé, came to the rescue, and made everything right (thank you again, everyone in my group), so in the end it was alright.

The last day, I had procrastinated, and hadn’t packed, so Victoria watched on the web cam while I franticly ran around my room for the last couple hours I had in Quebec, trying to get all my stuff to fit into the two suitcases I had. Finally finished (and 45 minutes late) I hugged everyone and said good bye. I have a lot of good memories with that family, and Diane got choked up immediately. I still have the image of them as I pulled out of the drive-way with François driving: Diane tears down her face, Fanny (the older sister) trying desperately to look like it was no big deal, and Fanny (the eleven year old) screaming crying: because the dog had just bit her on the chin during all the excitement of me leaving.

François talked a little for the first part of the trip, but both of us got a little choked up, and so we drove slowly through town, getting a last look at everything that had been home for six weeks. It was an amazing moment, very emotional, so it was very funny when François swore, and pulled a hard U-turn: we had drove past the train station a good ten minutes before, and neither of us noticed, we were so caught up in the moment.

Made it to the train station, got my scrapbook Catherine had made everyone, with pictures and messages from everyone. We had extra time, so we all went to the ice-cream place one last time. Me and Justin, the Dynamic duo we are, bought and split an entire treatza pizza. Went back to the train station, got on the train, and waved good-bye to all the families who took us in and made us feel at home.

The train ride home was amazing. First off, this time we left in the evening, and I was prepared, and slept nice and warm. Breakfast was interesting, but lunch was disgusting, but no big deal. We decided to have another Jam session, like on the way up, and that we would do it in the lounge car, a little more comfortable. This time, I had my drum, Evan had his guitar (he’s an AMAZING guitar player) Nicole had hers, and her knowledge of so many songs, and Amara had her guitar too. There were also two violins, and it was the best damn jam session ever. I had my MP3 player and recorded over an hour of it, it was amazing, and even though it sounds like crap, you can still hear that crazy em-effer improvising solos on his violin, while a trio of guitars, a tam-tam drum, and a chorus of people play and sing songs like time of you life and wonder wall.

That was the majority of my summer, and seeing as how right now I am still 28 kilometers from the New Brunswick border, let’s goes into why I went back to Quebec again.

Pretty simple reason actually: nationals (for paddling). Only, I didn’t train this season, seeing as how I was in Drummondville all summer. I was dragged along with my family to see my sister race, because my parents don’t trust me enough to leave me home alone for a week. Go figure.

We took two days to drive up, staying the night in Sussex (NB) with my aunt and uncle. Left early that morning, made it to Quebec city that afternoon, so the girls could do some shopping at Simons. Had a the usually amazing crepes at this awesome little crepe place in the old city, then got back in the car, and finished the trip to Montreal. We stayed in a hostel, which has some differences from a hotel.

All the Sack-a-Wa families were staying at the same hostel (L’auberge de Jeunnese, The Youth Hostel). I love Quebec, and I have never been “downtown” Montreal for any real length of time, and our place was literally two blocks from St. Catherine’s street, it was amazing. Victoria, if I ever get enough money, I want to take you shopping there, you would quite possibly die: a Louis Vitton store was extremely close, me and Cory went in to look, only the cheapest things had price tags, the string flip flops, and they were $300 and up. I counted at least four different Aldo shoe stores, as well as the dozens of independent little tiny shoe/hand bag stores. It was basically a girls shopping dream, and I walked by most of it everyday.

There were paddling races at the Olympic basin everyday, so almost everyday I went in to see. It was about 20-25 minutes driving time, if you didn’t go during rush hour, and half an hour on the subway if you got all the connections. I took Ian on the subway, obviously his first time on one, since it was mine too. It blew his mind; it was a lot of fun for him.

Cory and I found an awesome little arcade, and I spent most of my time and money in there, I won’t go on and explain all the awesome games they had, but I will leave it at this: I beat Cory at every racing game every time except for the last night, and he had to get me drunk to beat me.

After a week of paddling, all the boats just missing the finals my fractions of a second, as usuall, we were ready to go home. I won’t get into what happened the last night, but some things happened, and now I am in Cory Webster’s minivan, on my way home. I have been told I will get home around nine thirty, and if I did my math right, my parents won’t get home until midnight. So, I’m going to be really bored and lonely, because even the cat won’t be there, she’s at my grandparents place.

Ok, another update today.

Victoria and I went out for our "prom". I left, (and of course, had some of my AMAZING luck, but I won't get into that.

Got there, then took Jenny to work, then came back and watched Victoria's dad play Call of Duty (I think that's what he was playing...), until Victoria was ready to go. Hopped in the car, and we were off. Parked at parklane, and walked across the street, and got Dio Mio gellato ice cream. After relaxing there for a while, we left, and a security guard looked at me as we left, nodded and said "congratulations", it was funny.

We walked down to Dooly's on Barrington, where we were carded, and sent packin, so we walked back to Spring Garden, and by that time we were tired and hungry, so into La Cave we went.

My diner was AMAZING, salmon on a bed of this Gnocci stuff, *drool*, it was really good. Victoria got the chef's creation, penne pasta with grilled chicken and peppers, it looked really good too.

Then came desert, famous La Cave cheesecake, and although the one Victoria picked was better, both were really good, neither of us could finish, so we got it boxed, and brought it with us. Then another round of my AMAZING luck hit.

Well, get back to the car, find the one of the backseat doors is open, and after looking at it, deduce that the latch has broken, and won't stay closed. I improvised, and used the string from an old life jacket (which was in the trunk) to tie the door to a bolt inside the car, keeping it closed enough that I could drive home.

Then I sit down, start the car, and realize that I had left the last little bit of change I had on the table, the waitress's tip. Oh my, very uncomfortable. Luckily, the guy in the toll booth is a nice guy, and said this happens now and again, no big deal, and he writes up a very official "I O U", and tells me I can drop by and pay it when ever....I neglected to mention that I'm leaving for Quebec this friday, and won't be back for six weeks...*shrug*

We make it back to my place safe (after our last trip through "the trench"), and my mom and dad are home, deer damaged car and all. They sprung into action, and led us into the back yard, to take some pictures of us, her wearing her very poofy prom dress, me all up in the dress suit.

Went downstairs, scanned some photo's into the computer, then hung out on the couch watching TV and finishing the cheese cake (oh yeah, we changed out of the prom clothes after the pictures).

After a while, we decided to go, so we got in my car, and drove to a remote spot, to try some new activities. "Fun had by all...outside". cough, moving on...

After that fun time, I drove Victoria home, talked to the parents, said good bye to her dad, seeing as how I leave friday.

Quite an exciting day, I quite enjoyed it.

Tomorrow, my final day in Sackville before I leave, fireworks tommorow night (and my mom's birthday), what a sendoff.

Ok, update!

Victoria's BBQ was last night was really fun, and then the tubing/swimming was great. Too bad I had to leave early, but crap like that always happens to me.

OK, so I had to be home by 11 (yeah, and I got home early too, first time I think), because mom & dad were "going out", and Nikki could NEVER be responsible enough, so I had to be home. so I get home, empty house! I really don't care, so I go on the computer till bed.

Woke up this morning to my mom screaming from the phone, she was calling the house, and leaving yelled messages, trying to wake me up. I drag my self out of bed, and call her, IN NEW BRUNSWICK.

Here's what happened:

They left a note on the table last night, which of course, I didn't notice until this morning. My dad's "manager" (all the big people at my dad's office are morons) had scheduled a service meeting with my dad's clients in New Brunswick, then forgot to tell my dad until the last minute. So, instead of going out, they hopped in the car, and drove to New Brunswick, which I would have known, had I seen the note.

And of course, when ever my father is rushed, he drives like a maniac, and, SURPRISE, this was no exception.

Yeah, he hit and fucking killed a deer on the trip up.
Mom on the phone this morning: "Yeah, it was gross, Joan is gonna e-mail you some of the pictures, there is still deer poop, blood and hair all over the car.

He totaled the front end of the Impala.

*JOY*

Victoria, call me, plans might have to be changed.

Enough of that crap, everyone already knew that.

I'm quite disappointed with most of you, only the people who are close to me left anonymous replies, and I am not happy with the rest of you, I thought I really had an audience there, but I guess not...

I leave for Quebec this friday, if anyone wants to, you can come to the train station (it's in Halifax, not hard to find...) I'll be there by 10-10:30 Friday morning, and my train is scheduled to leave by 12:25, so if anyone happens to especialy bored, feel free to come say good-bye.

Tomorrow: Adrian's house in the afternoon, Victoria's BBQ after that, and I'll juggle some more getting ready for my trip in there.

Wednesday: "Prom" with Victoria, looks like it should be an interesting time for all.

Thursday: I have a bank appointment to set up my new account for this summer, at 1:00, I think, but other then that I have the day free (hmmmmm, might have to go shopping this day, I'm really running out of time)

Friday: I leave
